Eat on the Green prides itself on being a special occasion restaurant so whether you’re celebrating your birthday, a special anniversary, wedding, retirement or another occasion that you would like to mark with a special meal, we are here to help.  We prefer to meet our clients face to face first to find out exactly how they would like their event to run and with our experience we can suggest those extra touches to make it all that bit more memorable.  We offer bespoke menus, private dining space and professional service that is attentive but never stiff.  Besides the warm, North East hospitality and cosy interior which you can expect, Eat on the Green is situated in an idyllic village providing a relaxing ambience and a beautiful backdrop for photographs.

We have a capacity of 70 for dining but can cater for larger groups for drinks and canapés style events.

We have a spacious rear garden which can accommodate a marquee.

We have a license for civil wedding ceremonies on the premises.

We can offer our private dining room for parties of up to 26 people with an oval table alternative for up to 17 guests (NB a surcharge may apply during peak services for fewer covers).

Our functions always have a dedicated experienced lead waiter whose role it is to ensure that the event runs as planned.

Whilst we are normally closed all day on a Monday and Tuesday; and on Saturday lunchtimes, we will consider opening our doors for functions upon request
