2008 is a year of change, challenges and high expectations. Chef and proprietor,Craig Wilson, has pledged to raise over £10,000 for Breast Cancer Care by the end of this year.  Craig has close personal links with this charity and wants to show his appreciation and support for the excellent work they do.  2008 was kicked off in style with Hogmanay and New Year’s Day parties for close friends, family and loyal patrons here at Eat on the Green and over £1,300 was raised.
For Craig, the hard work has only just begun.
Food & Fun Day On May 11th there will be a Food and Fun Day here in Udny Green, celebrating all that is good about local food and promoting health & wellbeing.  Music, dancing, cookery demonstrations, BBQ, Marquee Bar, Wine Tasting, arts & crafts, health & wellbeing fair and a local Farmers Market are just a few of the attractions you can expect! There will be lots to keep the youngsters busy (and the young at heart!), including Football Skills coaching, a Bouncy Castle, Bobby the Playbus and much, much more.    Ready Steady Cook But this will be no ordinary village fete with the main draw likely to be a 'Ready Steady Cook' challenge where Craig and his close friend (and Chairman of the Master Chefs of Great Britain), George McIvor, will go head to head to conjure up some culinary masterpieces in 30 minutes with members of the audience to assist.  The quirky competition will be hosted by local resident and TV presenter, Sarah Mack (Landward, BBC2 Scotland).  The contest will be a ticketed event held in the Village Hall, Door Open 1:30pm (Cost: £5 all proceeds for Breast Cancer Care), please call 01651 842 337 or email enquiries@eatonthegreen.co.uk us now- TICKETS ARE SELLING FAST!   VIP Lounge Escape the bustle of the Green and walk up the red carpet into a serene, decadent lounge to enjoy champagne, canapés and light entertainment. Children's Healthy Lunch box competition- children to bring along a healthy, exciting lunchbox to be judged to win a great prize (entries in by 12pm in the primary school, winner announced by Alex Salmond at 12.30pm, costs 50p to enter)   Bring & Buy cook book stall Bring along your unwanted cook books and buy one that you might actually use! Children from Udny Green Primary School help to promote the Children's Healthy lunchbox competition on the Food & Fun day.  There is a prize for the healthiest, most interesting lunchbox- entry costs 50p and should be in by 12pm to the school on Sunday 11th May.
