CRAIG RAISES £30,000 FOR CANCER CHARITIES
On Saturday 4th June 2011, Craig completed his biggest charity challenge to date and raised over £30,000 for the development of a new Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre in Aberdeen and for Breast Cancer Care. Travelling over 600 miles, Craig cooked in every Scottish city in just one day, visiting Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. He was joined by a number of famous faces including First Minister Alex Salmond, who accompanied him on the first leg of his journey, Michelin starred chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, TV chef, Jacqueline O’Donnell from the Two Sisters, Lady Claire Macdonald and Scottish Government ministers also visited the six other venues nationwide.
The support Craig received in taking on this challenge was overwhelming and the donations and support he received along the way was phenomenal. Knowing that he was able to do something to support Maggie’s and Breast Cancer Care was Craig’s motivation to succeed in the challenge and without the help and support of his team, the First Minister and fellow chefs who got involved, it would never have been possible. The icing on the cake for Craig was delivering the final meal to Rod Stewart at Pittodrie Stadium on Sunday.

As a committed supporter of Breast Cancer Care Scotland, over the past six years, Craig has raised over £34,000 for a cause which is very close to his heart. From generous donations from Eat on the Green guests to a Food & Family Fun day festival and the north east’s first ever 24 hour cook-a-thon, Craig has worked tirelessly to raise as much money as possible. However, his efforts don’t end there, as he has lots of ideas up his sleeve to raise even more money, so watch this space! |
